Braves Baseball Game

We were able to go to one of the Braves Baseball games with a bunch of Steven's classmates last week. It was Mariah's first baseball game and her favorite part was the "diamond duck." At first she was afraid of it, but then she gave it a high five and it was her best friend.

Mariah was sporting her glasses at the baseball game.

She loved watching the ball, and entertaining the people behind us.

I know I don't ever comment, but I enjoy seeing what you guys are up to.

Gabby said...: You gotta love those glasses, Mariah!!! Chrystal, your pictures are so cute!! You guys look like you have tons of fun in Virginia! I wish we could have been able to see you guys! Scott was in such a hurry to make it back to work and start studying for his big exam, we just stopped by for a few hours at Darin and David's to see them quickly and that was it! I even wish I had gone into the city to see NYC for a last time, but that wasn't possible either :) Anyways, I guess you guys have to come over some time, huh? Or we'll have to figure out a way to go see you guys some time in VA! Enjoy Virginia, it looks like a fun place to live! Enjoy these years of studying and meeting fun people at Steve's school. I miss the time when Scott would go to BYU and come home at 6-7 pm everyday, sometimes even earlier.. Oh, that was a blast!

Mariah says the darndest things...

Mariah certainly has interesting designations for things. Today she asked me for clean milk. I was getting Lylah some of her rice milk and evidently Maraih didn't want it. She pointed to the regular 1% milk and said that was clean milk. I asked her why it was clean, she told me, "because I said it was!" I really don't know where she got that!

At dinner Mariah told me she wanted dry water. I asked her what dry water was (after I could stop chuckling behind my hands) and she said water that came from our glass pitcher was dry water. I never quite figured out why that was dry water, although we do usually put ice cubes in it when we use the pitcher. hmmm... dry water...

The other day Mariah asked me for kid beans. At first I thought she wanted green beans because she loves them and could eat a whole can by herself. But she didn't want those. I eventually found out that she wanted kidney beans. Lylah likes to eat kidney beans, straight from the can and Mariah was jealous and wanted some.

We use sliced cheese for grilled cheese sandwiches, now Mariah calls that cheese "girl cheese."

One of my favorite things Mariah said was about a year ago. She came to me with a very concerned look on her face, "Mommy why doesn't the table have clothes on?" I had taken the tablecloth off and hadn't put another one on yet and she was worried about it.

When Lylah was a couple months old she got a hold of Mariah's hand and tried to put it in her mouth. Mariah laughed and said, "Mommy, Lylah is trying to eat the elbows on my hand!" Now if that is not a good way to descibe knuckles, I don't know what is!

Steven was trying to help Mariah learn how to catch the ball. He would throw the ball and she would look at him and miss it. He told her to keep her eye on the ball. She gave Steven a funny look and literally put her eye on the ball. Needless to say, we both started laughing.

We went hiking last week on Steven's day off. We were just getting going up a hill into the trees when Mariah turned to Steven and said, "Daddy I want the car." I didn't realize we were raising such a city girl. Looks like we need to get back out west soon!
