Camping at Inwood Hill Park

Steven camped at Inwood Hill Park with the Boy Scouts. It is the first time that they have allowed anyone to camp at a park on Manhattan Island. The Rangers took them on a night hike to look for night animals, told them a history of the park, and camped with them. This park has the last remaining native forest on Manhattan Island. It is also where the purchase of Manhattan Island took place. The Dutch purchased it from the Indians for $24. Steven said it was kind of weird to hear cars zooming by on the bridge that was near them and look up at the big buildings while they camped. It was also interesting to hear Hip Hop music coming from the boys' tents. They are definitely city boys.
